We were ready to head out of town for the day and see some of the countryside, so we rented a car for the day and drove down to Vik, which is the southernmost city in Iceland. The scenery definitely changed as we headed down that way and part of the drive was through the area that was recently devastated by the volcano eruption. Despite that, the countryside was truly beautiful.......
